Lately I have been reading some posts and comments from people who are annoyed by the fact that breast cancer gets such great recognition.
I can understand their frustration if that is not the specific cancer that has affected their lives, but I don’t think it is a reason to be angry towards others. I feel as though people should be happy for others if they are spreading awareness because everyone hurts from cancer. It is because of that similarity that we should help each other promote every cancer awareness month and hopefully all will eventually see their colors shining for a whole month. We may all have different color ribbons but we all feel the same hurt from watching someone we love go through cancer, losing someone to cancer, or having cancer yourself.
No cancer is more important than the other and it shouldn’t be a race to who finds a cure first or who gets more pink or blue or black in a grocery store….
Although I have made it clear that this is breast cancer awareness month, some of you may not know that it is also liver cancer awareness month.
